Printable Food Distribution flyer (for families in need)

Our club is now working with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maryland (located in North Beach) to provide food to local families. This has been a recurring event. This is the FINAL large scale food distribution event, as kids will be back in the building for normal Boys & Girls' Club programs.

Food drop-off at the Boys and Girls Club on food drive/distribution days is from 9:00 to 10:00AM. The Boys & Girls Club will be distributing food afterward (typically from 10:00AM to noon).

You can also drop off donations at the Boys & Girls Club any day, 8:30 AM to 8 PM. Just let the front desk know the donations are for Ms. Joy Hill.

Please pick up the following items for the food drive:

  • Canned goods, pasta, spaghetti sauce, cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, taco or burrito kits, bags of beans or rice, etc.
  • Personal care items such as diapers, sanitary pads, tampons, soap, deodorant, shampoo, etc.
  • Cakes or store-bought baked treats are greatly appreciated
  • Fresh produce (only if dropped off at BGCSM Saturday morning - other food collectors may not have fridge capacity for this)
  • Some people only have a microwave for cooking, so microwaveable donations are appreciated.
  • If you can, bring multiples of each thing. In other words, rather than bringing 10 different things, bring 10 of one thing.
  • Another useful idea is to bring things that go together for a meal, like pasta & sauce.
  • Due to insurance considerations, bulk foods can't be divided/portioned, so please stick to prepackaged if bringing rice, beans, flour, etc.

Local Drop-off Sites

For convenience and social distancing, CCDWC volunteers will collect & consolidate food and get it to the Boys & Girls Club.

Again, this is the FINAL large-scale food distribution event, as the Boys and Girls Clubs will be focusing on their normal programs with kids in the building!
